Description
KLAW #1 - A universal small instrument with a curved scaler tip designed for root surfaces. This curette design will eliminate hand scaling repetitive motion injuries and is useful for subgingival soft tissue curettage.
KLAW #2 - A small instrument with a left 30-degree angle near the thin tip for ease of scaling difficult to reach areas. Designed for right mandibular buccal surfaces, left mandibular lingual surfaces, left maxillary buccal surfaces and right maxillary lingual surfaces.
KLAW #3 - A version of the KLAW™ 2 with a right 30-degree angle near the tip for ease of scaling difficult areas. Designed for left mandibular buccal surfaces right mandibular lingual surfaces, right maxillary buccal surfaces and left maxillary lingual surfaces.
KLAW #4 - A straight universal instrument for use on all teeth surfaces, which is tapered with a tip angle of 110 degrees. This tip is ideal for interdental areas and with a sharpened blade is useful for root scaling.
KLAW #6 - A longer shaft version of the KLAW™ 4 with a wider diameter and heavy knurl and rounded tip which creates a more aggressive action for removing heavy supragingival calculus.
The KLAW™ veterinary ultrasonic instruments are Precision Automated Ultrasonic Scaling Equipment (PAUSE) which are designed to ideally clean the deep developmental grooves found in cat canine teeth and dog premolar teeth. The removal of calculus deposits, discoloration and even the elimination of bacterial plaque no longer needs to be completed with manual instruments or sonic scalers. These methods are time consuming, tedious and also trying for the veterinary operator and can cause enamel surface damage leading to increased bacterial plaque retention.
Studies have shown that ultrasonic instruments used for subgingival scaling remove less root cementum and provide more patient comfort. The KLAW™ Tips are small and are easily threaded onto the computerized piezoelectric scaler handpiece. Ultrasonic vibrations, from 23,000 - 32,000 Hz, coupled with the precision KLAW™ Tips will effectively perform PerioBUD and leave the healthiest teeth and periodontal tissues in veterinary dental patients.
The KLAW Tips were designed by a veterinary dentist and will fit most, but not all, brands of Piezo Scalers. The average expected lifespan of the tips, like most piezo scaling tips, is apx. 6 months. If practices aren’t using the tips much and remember to use a very light touch with them, they may last longer. We strongly recommend practices check their tips against a wear guide to know when it's time to replace their tips.
If the tip breaks or has any other issues within the first few weeks of use, it can be submitted to us for the manufacturer to evaluate. Many variables can cause a tip to stop working or break, therefore the manufacturer requires an evaluation to determine the issue. If it’s determined to be a warranty issue, they will at that point authorize us to replace the tip under warranty. If the manufacturer determines the tip has been excessively worn, dropped or bent, it will not be covered under warranty.
